President’s July 2019 Column

Each of us brings talents and experiences to whatever we do. I am proud to be your newly elected president, and will likewise use my experience and knowledge to help serve Temple Judah best. My experience lends itself to help make things efficient, so the burden does not fall to the few whom have served this temple so well.

As you may recall at the annual meeting, we asked your approval to amend the bylaws so that this temple can be directed by a minimum of ten (10) percent of the members in good standing; replacing the current rule of ten percent plus two. We are a small community and we believe this makes sense.

A special congregational meeting will be held July 14th at 5:00 pm and you are invited to participate. But know that your previous proxy, you may have called in or voted, will stand in your place. In that case there is no need to attend this meeting.

We are a small but mighty community when you consider all we have and the many programs and services we offer. I am grateful to live in Cedar Rapids and help serve this temple. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kindly serving as your president,

Robert Becker
